story of dosai maavu

Dosai maavu - i just dont want to translate it to english fearing it will loose the fun part of this blog and not many foreigners going to read it anyway...

Last friday, we ate dosa, from the maavu made with the help of mixie, and pongal as breakfast and left the balance maavu in the kitchen area in a vessel covered. we normally ask our servant maid to cook the lunch for us after she completes the regular work and this time we asked her to prepare chapathis and sabji !! when i entered the kitchen, she showed me the dosai maavu vessel and asked if it should be cleaned as well.... i explained to my best in bengali words, hindi words and some part by action and said just to leave it as it is.... as usual i asked her if she has understood and she smiled and said ok !!

she made very good chapathis and sabji and we all thanked her for the nice work and started enjoying the lunch... my friend just entered into the kitchen for taking pickles got shocked and shouted for me for immediate action.... i rushed to the scene only to see the dosai maavu vessel put on stove and being heated for more than 10 minutes.....

i could not control laughing and my friend was so upset as he took so much effort to get the dosai maavu made from the mixie and interestingly we were just discussing if we should do chutney or sambar for the dinner for the balance dosas......

we asked the servant, " aunty, why did you put it on stove? ". she smiled and replied, " the smell was not good, so i thought of heating it !! "

whose fault is it?? is it her fault for heating without checking with us, or is it our fault in not taking more care in explaining the nature of dosai maavu ??!!!!

Fun ? Agony ? Frustration??
